Altro XpressLay Cherry is a revolutionary loose laid safety floor, designed to dramatically reduce installation times and remove adhesive odours in the hospitality, health and care, education and housing sectors.

High performing and durable, using revolutionary studded back technology, allows this flooring to lie flat without the need for an adhesive, with the same performance you would expect from a traditional glued down safety floor, creating a maximum impact with minimum downtime flooring solution.

Not just a quick fit, this 2.2mm thick flooring offers high levels of comfort underfoot and is Ideal for bedrooms in care homes and hotels, receptions and public areas in hospitals, care homes, schools and nurseries, corridors, wards, waiting and treatment rooms in hospitals and care homes, student accommodation and cafe diners.

Can be a temporary install where the original floor may need to be used again later, can be installed over old soundly fixed tiles or sheet vinyl, existing resin or paint systems and over underfloor heated subfloors providing they are dry. Comes with an extra heavy commercial and heavy industrial wear classification with a commercial wear warranty of 10 years and an expected lifetime of 15 years.

With Xpresslay adhesive free safety flooring, you can halve the installation time compared with traditional stick down methods, which also reduces disruption when installing in busy public places, as it can be welded and walked on the same day. When it comes to removing the flooring it can be easily uplifted, reused or disposed and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life.

This adhesive free safety flooring should be laid in accordance with the Code of Practice BS 8203:2017. The material should be stored for approximately 24 hours at a room temperature of not below 18°C. When laying, the area should be at a steady temperature of between 18°C and 27°C for at least 48 hours prior to, during and for at least 24 hours after completion.

Altro XpressLay Cherry safety flooring can be laid over a variety of surfaces without the need to fully adhere the material to the subfloor. This overcomes many of the problems encountered in laying sheet flooring over new or old subfloors, and is laid with the aid of Altro double sided tape. The product must be adhered to the subfloor at all joints, and the perimeter if straight laid, using the double sided tape.

The tape can also be used on the cove section when self coving the flooring. It is also recommended that at any point where the flooring finishes at drain channels, access covers, door entrances etc, the material should be adhered to the subfloor using the tape.

Once fully installed, all joins and mitres within the installation should be hot welded with the matching colour Altro Weldrod

In areas that are subject to moisture spillage, the complete installation must be welded and sealed between the junction of the flooring and the wall covering or other floor surfaces.
