Do I require an underlay?
Carpets come in two main backing types, Secondary Backing and Felt Backing. Carpets with Secondary Backing require Underlay and Gripper to be fitted correctly. However, Felt Backed carpet can be fitted either with or without the use of underlay and gripper.
How do I work out a square metre measurement?
Measure the length of the room and add 10cms. Measure the width of the room and add 10cms. Then multiply these two numbers together.
How much waste should I allow when ordering flooring materials?
Carpets, Vinyl flooring and Artificial grass you should add at least 10cm to the length and width of your net measurements to allow for cutting and rooms slightly off square
For tiles and plank flooring you should allow between 10-15% on top of your Net Measurement.
